Chicago's South Loop neighborhood has a new type of clinic that meets patients at the intersection of "mind, body and soul," dubbed Quench Wellness.

Here are five things to know about Quench Wellness:

1. After graduating from medical school, friends Gameli Dekayie-Amenu, MD, and Chantale Stephens-Archer, MD, launched Quench Wellness in January 2018.

2. Quench Wellness aims to provide a wellness experience tailored to each patient's health needs, with services such as oxygen therapy and vaginal laser therapy.

3. A core tenant of Quench Wellness is health education. The holistic practice hosts health education socials, where guests and health enthusiasts can mingle and discuss various wellness treatments including the benefits of various IV infusions and natural hormone replacement therapy.

4. Quench Wellness currently does not accept any forms of insurance, but does accept cash and payment via credit or debit cards. Quench Wellness also offers a membership program.

5. The two friends, who first met in 2001 before starting their undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago, also co-founded BestiesMD, a platform that aims to empower women through health education.

"I look at medicine and see doctors prescribing pills, and I wanted to do something different," Dr. Stephens-Archer said in a blog post on Quench Wellness' website. "This business is a passion project, and the more I do it, the more empowered and energized I feel."
