5 recent healthcare layoffs

The following healthcare layoffs were reported by Becker's Hospital Review so far in September. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Kindred to cut 86 jobs with closure of Indiana hospital
Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare will cut 86 positions with the closure of Kindred Hospital Indianapolis South in Greenwood, Ind.

2. RCCH HealthCare Partners cuts 62 positions, including CMO, at acquired Idaho hospital
Brentwood, Tenn.-based for-profit hospital operator RCCH HealthCare Partners laid off 62 employees at Lewiston, Idaho-based St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

3. New Hampshire hospital cuts 17 jobs with closure of patient accounts department
Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, N.H., closed its patient accounts department, resulting in 17 layoffs.

4. Eli Lilly to trim 8% of workforce: 4 things to know
Eli Lilly and Co. will lay off about 8 percent of its workforce in a cost-cutting move.

5. Genesis HealthCare to lay off 72 with voluntary closure of nursing home
Carmichael, Calif.-based Eagle Crest nursing home, owned by Kennett Square, Pa.-based Genesis HealthCare, will voluntarily close this fall, resulting in 72 layoffs.
