1. MedStar hospital lays off 100 employees in attempt to close budget shortfall
MedStar Washington Hospital Center — a nonprofit, 912-bed academic medical center in the District of Columbia — is laying off 100 employees as it attempts to close a budget shortfall.

2. 60 employees to lose jobs at ETMC Trinity
East Texas Medical Center in Tyler will not renew its lease for ETMC Trinity, resulting in the layoff of 60 employees.

3. Geisinger lays off 46 IT employees
Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System laid off 46 IT employees to control costs.

4. Indiana hospital cuts 7 jobs amid financial struggles
Tell City, Ind.-based Perry County Memorial Hospital laid off seven employees.
