4 latest layoffs in healthcare

The following healthcare layoffs were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in November so far. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health expects to eliminate 25 to 30 full-time jobs as it consolidates inpatient services from Baystate Mary Lane in Ware, Mass., to Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Mass. Here are eight things to know about the consolidation plans and expected job cuts.         

2. Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services — the new owner of Denville, N.J-based Saint Clare's Health System — laid off 50 hospital employees.

3. Merit Health Natchez (Miss.) laid off 13 employees amid its consolidation of the former Natchez Regional Medical Center and Natchez Community Hospital campuses. Here are four things to know about the job cuts.

4. Financially troubled Bowie (Texas) Memorial Hospital officially shut down Nov. 16. Bowie Memorial's closure affected 138 hospital employees and an additional 336 jobs within the community, according to a KFDX report.
