3 latest hospital, health system layoffs

The following hospitals and health systems have shared plans for or implemented layoffs since May 28, starting with the most recent.

1. Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health will lay off 24 employees, cut hours for another 17 workers and not fill 45 open positions. Here are six things to know about the layoffs.

2. Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., part of Renton, Wash.-based Providence Health & Services, shut down its regional blood donor center in May. Thirty-four employees were laid off as a result of the closure. Here are three things to know about the closure.

3. Mohawk Valley Health System in New Hartford, N.Y., is cutting 48 positions and making service changes at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare, both in Utica, N.Y. SEMC will lay off 35 employees and FSLH will lay off 13. Here are eight things to know about the cuts.
