Jack Connors to Step Down as Chairman of Partners HealthCare System

Jack Connors, who has served as chairman of Partners Healthcare System in Boston for the past 15 years, will be stepping down next summer, according to a Boston Globe news report.

Edward P. Lawrence, retired partner at the Boston law firm Ropes & Gray, will be taking over next July under a succession plan that was established earlier this year, according to the report. Mr. Connors was heavily involved in the merger between Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, both in Boston, to create Partners Healthcare. He later took over as chairman in 1996. He has since been elected to 15 straight one-year reappointments.
