HCA Announces Leadership Reorganization, Names New President

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA has announced an internal reorganization, effective immediately, according to an HCA news release.

The following executive moves will take place within the company:

• R. Milton Johnson has been promoted to president of HCA and will retain his title and responsibilities as CFO as well.

• Beverly B. Wallace becomes president of a new subsidiary which will provide revenue cycle, staffing services and supply chain management to other healthcare providers. Ms. Wallace was most recently president of HCA's shared services group.

• Johnathon B. Perlin, MD, expands his role as CMO to include responsibility for HCA-affiliated physician practices. Dr. Perlin's new title is president of HCA's clinical and physician services group.

• Sam Hazen has been promoted to president of operations, a new position that oversees operations of HCA's 164 hospitals. Most recently, Mr. Hazen was president of HCA's Western Group, where he oversaw 63 hospitals.
