Mayo Clinic Names Coborn Cancer Center First Member of New Cancer Care Network

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic announced that the Coborn Cancer Center in St. Cloud, Minn., part of CentraCare Health System, became the first member of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Care Network.

The Mayo Clinic Cancer Care Network allows Coborn Cancer Center patients to benefit from Mayo Clinic's expertise close to home. The Coborn Cancer Center will remain an independent, community-based cancer program.

The network provides members with access to the following resources:

•    AskMayoExpert, which includes Mayo Clinic's evidence-based disease management protocols, clinical care guidelines, treatment recommendations and reference materials for various medical conditions.

•    eConsults, which allows member physicians to connect with a Mayo expert for input on specific questions.

•    Administrative consulting for clinical practice models.

The Mayo Clinic Cancer Care Network is an offshoot of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, which was launched last year. Network members pay a subscription fee to Mayo, according to a Grand Forks Herald report.
