The 12,000-square-foot clinic will double the size of the current clinic and will include 20 chemotherapy infusion bays, community facilities for support groups and events and a pharmacy for on-site chemotherapy admixture, according to the release. The facility will also include research, clinical trials, a lab and benefit specialists.

In addition, the new building will house the LewisGale Blacksburg Specialty Center. The 1,000-square-foot center will offer genetic counseling, gynecologic oncology, mental health support and surgical care. The specialty center is expected to open in December 2013.
