Massachusetts Hospital Association Unveils Smoke-Free Initiative for Hospitals

The Massachusetts Hospital Association and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health have joined together to create a tobacco-free hospital initiative for 2011, according to a Boston Globe report.

The voluntary program would ban all tobacco products from hospital campuses in the state.

The program is intended to reinforce the state's anti-smoking messaging.

In November, MHA announced it would not hire smokers as employees.
