Woodland Heights names new CEO: 3 things to know

Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas, has appointed Kyle Swift CEO, effective July 27.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Swift.

1. In a prepared statement, Mr. Swift said he looks forward to beginning his new role. "Woodland Heights has a great tradition of providing personalized care; from my initial visit I noticed the extra touches that make a difference in the patients' and their family members' hospital experience," he added.  

2. Mr. Swift has more than nine years of hospital management experience. Since 2011, Mr. Swift has served as CEO of Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, where he oversaw a $3.5 million renovation and expansion of the emergency department, and grew outpatient services and patient access, according to a news release. He also previously served as assistant CEO at Brownwood (Texas) Regional Medica Center and as administrative specialist at Laredo (Texas) Medical Center.

3. Mr. Swift earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Texas A&M University in College Station, and a master's degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
