Winnie Mack, RN, interim leader of East Meadow, N.Y.-based Nassau University Medical Center, is leaving after six months in the role, according to a Newsday report.

Ms. Mack became interim head of the hospital in April as part of a multiyear agreement between New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health and Nassau University Medical Center.

According to the agreement, Northwell will provide interim leadership and consultative services at the hospital as well as help it build a senior leadership team. Ms. Mack oversaw Nassau University Medical Center as interim president and CEO of NuHealth, the public benefit corporation that runs the hospital.

Although Ms. Mack's leadership services agreement was for up to two years, with the possibility of six-month extensions, Northwell informed NuHealth Sept. 9 that she would depart Oct. 15.

Ms. Mack is senior vice president of operations at Northwell Health.

"It was always meant to be short-term," NuHealth Chairman George Tsunis told Newsday. "We're all incredibly grateful for Winnie and for all she has done for NUMC and wish her well."
