Washington Health System CEO Gary Weinstein to retire at end of June


Gary Weinstein, president and CEO of Washington (Pa.) Health System, is retiring, effective June 30, according to the Observer-Reporter.

Mr. Weinstein became the top leader at Washington Health System in 2010, overseeing its various facilities, including a community hospital, a rural hospital and a 70-provider physician group. He joined Washington Hospital, which grew into a health system, in 1981. From 1992 to 2010 he was the organization's executive vice president and COO.

Mr. Weinstein is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the board of directors of the Hospital and Health Systems Association of Pennsylvania.

Brook Ward, Washington Health System's current executive vice president and COO, will succeed Mr. Weinstein.
