Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University Health System has named Melinda S. Hancock as its new senior vice president and CFO.

Ms. Hancock, who will begin her duties at VCU Health June 20, most recently served as a partner with the healthcare practice Dixon Hughes Goodman. Prior to that, she had a 10-year career with Marriottsville, Md.-based Bon Secours Health System, where she was promoted to senior vice president and CFO of Bon Secours Virginia.

"Ms. Hancock is uniquely qualified for the CFO position because she brings us the experience, vision and strategic financial planning background that will help us tremendously over the next five to 10 years," said Marsha D. Rappley, MD, CEO of VCU Health System and VCU vice president of health sciences.

Ms. Hancock is the 2015-16 national chair of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a member of the leadership council for the Virginia Health Innovation Center.
