Timothy L. Jarm, president and CEO of Cleveland-based The Center for Health Affairs and Champs Healthcare, resigned Dec. 22.

In a statement, The Center for Health Affairs' Board Chair Heidi L. Gartland said, "The Board and Jarm reached the mutual realization that they had a fundamental difference of opinion on how to move the organization forward, and it was jointly decided that Jarm would leave the organization."

Mr. Jarm has served at the helm of the organizations since Jan. 30. Phil Mazanec, COO of The Center for Health Affairs and Champs Healthcare, will take over as interim president and CEO. Mr. Mazanec has worked at The Center for Health Affairs since 1979, when he joined as director of pension services.

The Center for Health Affairs is a regional hospital association focusing on advocacy for Northeast Ohio hospitals. It advocates on behalf of 36 hospitals in six counties. Champs Healthcare is the business affiliate of The Center for Health Affairs, serving more than 5,000 clients.

The board will initiate a nationwide search for Mr. Jarm's permanent successor.
