Stony Brook University Hospital selects Nicole Rossol as first chief patient experience officer

Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital has named Nicole Rossol its inaugural chief patient experience officer.

Four things to know:

1. Ms. Rossol assumed the role Feb. 7, prior to which she served as the patient experience officer at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, N.Y.

2. She was previously director of patient experience at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, N.Y.

3. Ms. Rossol has served on national committees for the Association of Child Life Professionals and as an adjunct faculty member at New York City-based Bank Street College of Education.

4. In her new role, she will focus on fostering a patient-centric culture at Stony Brook University Hospital and ownership of patient engagement among its staff.
