St. Louis Children's Hospital selects vice president of pediatric quality improvement and patient safety: 5 things to know

St. Louis Children's Hospital appointed Beverly S. Brozanski, MD, vice president of pediatric quality improvement and patient safety, effective in October.

Five things to know:

1. In this role, Dr. Brozanski will collaborate with other departments and colleagues to develop a systemwide standard of care in pediatrics and initiatives supporting safety and quality improvement.

2. She was also named vice chair of quality and safety in the department of pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

3. She previously was a professor of pediatrics and of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

4. Dr. Brozanski was one of the founding members of the Children's Hospitals Neonatal Consortium, a national organization comprising of 34 children's hospitals, in 2006.

5. She completed a neonatal/perinatal medicine fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
