Southern Hills Hospital names new CEO: 4 things to know

Kelly Gooch -

Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas has named Adam Rudd CEO, effective Sept. 7.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Rudd.

1. Mr. Rudd assumes the CEO role following the vacancy left by former Southern Hills CEO Kimball Anderson, who accepted the CEO position at Hospital Corporation of America's TimpanogosRegionalHospital in Orem, Utah. Thomas Pentz served in the interim since June while the CEO recruitment occurred.

2. In his new position, Mr. Rudd will oversee all operations for the 134-bed facility.

3. He most recently served as COO of Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. As COO, he was responsible for managing and growing a multicampus facility with 1,200 staff members and more than 200 physicians; implementing and managing the facility's trauma service, which grew to be the largest trauma program in South Carolina; and managing a $54 million construction project that involved a new emergency room and patient tower.

4. Prior to Grand Strand, Mr. Rudd served for seven years at the Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America West Florida Division as the vice president of operations. Before that, he was with Denver-based Presbyterian/St. Luke's MedicalCenter, another HCA facility.
