Scripps Health selects 1st-ever chief experience officer: 5 takeaways

San Diego-based Scripps Health appointed Ghazala Sharieff, MD, its inaugural corporate vice president and chief experience officer.

Here are five takeaways:

1. Dr. Sharieff most recently served as Scripps Health's senior director of patient experience and medical management.

2. She previously served as medical director of the office of quality and medical management at Scripps.

3. Prior to joining Scripps, she worked at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, where she was division director of the emergency department.

4. In her new role, Dr. Sharieff will oversee strategies to improve and maintain high-quality patient experience.

5. In addition to her medical training in emergency medicine, she holds a physician executive MBA degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
