Saint Louis University Hospital names Dr. Nirav Patel CMO: 4 points

Saint Louis University Hospital named Nirav Patel, MD, its permanent chief medical officer, according to a St. Louis Dispatch report.

Here are four points:

1. Dr. Patel has served as the hospital's interim CMO since July 2014, when Karen Webb, MD, retired.

2. Dr. Patel is an assistant professor of internal medicine at Saint Louis University.

3. He is also director of antibiotic stewardship for Saint Louis University Hospital.

4. He has completed a fellowship in critical care medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
