Robert Eardley to return to University Hospitals as CIO

Robert Eardley, the senior vice president, CIO and chief information security officer at Houston Methodist Hospitals in Texas, will replace Joy Grosser as CIO at Cleveland-based University Hospitals, effective Feb. 19, 2018, the hospital confirmed to Becker's Hospital Review

Ms. Grosser left the system in October for the CIO post at Seattle-based University of Washington Medicine. Jennifer Carpenter, vice president of IT clinical systems, has been serving in the interim.

As CIO at UH, Mr. Eardley will lead initiatives to leverage IT performance and work with administrative and clinical leaders to deploy additional strategies. 

Mr. Eardley brings roughly 24 years of healthcare IT experience to UH, a system where he previously served as vice president and associate CIO from 2007 to 2011. In 2006, he served as ambulatory and business systems division information officer at UH.
