New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health has appointed Parul Shukla, MD, as regional chief of colon and rectal surgery, a new position serving the system's Phelps and Northern Westchester hospitals in Westchester County, according to a news release shared with Becker's.
Dr. Shukla will build a robust colorectal surgical program that will serve as an example for similar programs at other Northwell hospitals.
This colorectal surgery program will add more specialists and services to the existing gastroenterology team. Expected services include upper gastrointestinal tract, bariatrics and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgeries.
