North Valley Hospital names new executives

North Valley Hospital in Whitefish, Mont., has selected Jason Cohen, MD, as CMO and Ryan Gunlikson, MD, as chief of staff, according to a Daily Inter Lake report.

Dr. Cohen is replacing Ron Miller, MD, who retired. As CMO, Dr. Cohen will work as an intermediary between medical staff and hospital leadership to advocate for needs of the medical staff and the community, according to the report.

Dr. Cohen has been a hospitalist for North Valley Hospital for the past three years. He previously worked at Marcus Daly Hospital, a rural critical access hospital in Hamilton, Mont.

Dr. Gunlikson was nominated for the one-year chief of staff position by the hospital medical staff and will now advocate for the medical staff at the board level, the report states.

Dr. Gunlikson is a board-certified general surgeon with North Valley Surgical Services in Whitefish and has been on staff at North Valley Hospital since 1999.

The appointments of Drs. Cohen and Gunlikson came just months after North Valley Hospital North Valley Hospital entered an affiliation with the Kalispell (Mont.) Regional Healthcare system. The appointments also followed the board's selection of Tate Kreitinger as North Valley Hospital's CEO.
