Flushing-based NewYork-Presbyterian Queens appointed Gina Villani, MD, as the medical oncology division chief, effective Nov. 1.
Here are four quick notes:
1. Prior to joining NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, Dr. Villani was the CEO of New York City-based The Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention.
2. She will create an interdisciplinary medical oncology cancer program in hematological and solid tumor malignancies in her new role as medical oncology division chief.
3. NewYork-Presbyterian Queens opened a therapeutic medicine center dedicated to chemotherapy in April 2017 to expand the hospital's oncology care.
4. Dr. Villani earned her medical degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook.
