National Comprehensive Cancer Network names 1st-ever CMO: 3 takeaways

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network appointed Wui-Jin Koh, MD, its inaugural senior vice president and CMO, effective Oct. 1.

The network is a nonprofit alliance of 27 U.S. cancer centers.

Here are three takeaways:

1. Dr. Koh is a radiation oncologist, professor and medical director for radiation oncology at Seattle-based Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, a member of the network.

2. He became a founding member of the NCCN Guidelines Panel for Uterine/Cervical Cancer in 1997 and served as panel co-chair in 2004.

3. He serves on the editorial boards of JNCCN – Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and Cancer, among others.
