Mon Health names CIO, CMO & chief transformation officer

Morgantown, W.Va.-based Mon Health announced three new additions to its executive team.

The health system selected:

• Mark Gilliam as CIO
• Lisa Simon as chief transformation officer
• Gregory Nelcamp, MD, as CMO of Mon Health Medical Center

Both the CIO and CTO roles are newly created.

Mr. Gilliam comes to Mon Health from Owensboro (Ky.) Health, where he also served as CIO. He has 16 years of IT leadership experience under his belt, including experience serving as senior vice president and CIO for RegionalCare Hospital Partners in Brentwood, Tenn. A member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, Mr. Gilliam received the Disrupter of the Year award by Tennessee HIMSS in 2010.

Ms. Simon most recently served as the owner and director of a healthcare consulting company. She previously served as the vice president of finance mergers and acquisitions at WVU Medicine in Morgantown, W. Va., and senior vice president and CFO at Ohio Vally Health Care in Wheeling, W. Va.

Dr. Nelcamp has taken on the CMO role at Mon Health Medical Center, the health system's flagship hospital. He recently served as the division CMO at Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, N.M. He formerly served as director of medical affairs of the Hospital Therapeutic Team at Merck & Co. He is an anesthesiologist by training.
