Henderson, Ky.-based Methodist Hospital President and CEO Gary R. Colberg resigned due to "increasing family responsibilities requiring his full attention," according to The Gleaner.

Mr. Colberg led the hospital since April 2016, prior to which he was president and CEO of Brunswick-based Southeast Georgia Health System.

Benny Nolen will serve as interim CEO until the board identifies a permanent replacement. Mr. Nolen currently serves as vice president of professional services at Methodist Hospital. He came to Methodist from St. Joseph Mount Sterling Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Ky., where he served as president.

"We respect this difficult decision and thank [Mr. Colberg] for his service to Methodist Hospital," said Garland Certain, Methodist Hospital's chairman of the board, according to the report.
