McLaren Oakland in Pontiac, Mich., appointed Patrick Ahearne chief nursing officer, according to The Oakland Press.

1. Mr. Ahearne most recently served as the chief nursing officer and COO of St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, Wash.
2. He also has had experience serving as CEO of Winn Army Community Hospital in Fort Stewart, Ga., and deputy commander of health services for Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colo.
3. He worked in the U.S. Army for 27 years.
4. Mr. Ahearne holds a master of science degree in nursing informatics from the University of Maryland in College Park and a master of strategic studies degree from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pa.
