McLaren Lapeer Region taps Chris Candela to lead as CEO: 5 things to know

McLaren Lapeer (Mich.) Region appointed Chris Candela president and CEO, effective March 20, according to a report by The County Press.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Candela is currently vice president of operations and COO at McLaren Macomb in Mount Clemens, Mich.

2. He came to Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care in 2008, initially serving as director of rehabilitation services for McLaren Macomb.

3. He previously held administrative positions at Detroit-based Henry Ford Health System, Sterling Heights, Mich.-based Concentra Medical Center and New Baltimore, Mich.-based Tri Rehab.

4. He holds an MBA degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.

5. Mr. Candela succeeds Barton P. Buxton, who is now president and CEO of Pontiac, Mich.-based McLaren Oakland.
