Matt Sogard is Overland Park Regional Medical Center's new CEO: 5 notes

Kansas City, Mo.-based HCA Midwest Health appointed Matt Sogard CEO of Overland Park (Kan.) Regional Medical Center, effective April 9.

Here are five notes:

1. Mr. Sogard currently serves as CEO of Lee's Summit (Mo.) Medical Center, also a part of HCA Midwest Health.

2. He has worked with HCA for 13-plus years, and his prior roles include serving as COO of Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

3. He holds an MBA and master of health administration degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

4. Mr. Sogard succeeds Kevin J. Hicks, who is retiring after 40 years working in healthcare.

5. Mr. Hicks joined Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare in 1987. He has served as Overland Park Regional Medical Center CEO for four years.
