Maine Medical Center names Dr. Joel Botler CMO: 4 points

Portland-based Maine Medical Center promoted Joel Botler, MD, to senior vice president and CMO, according to a Portland Press Herald report.

Here are four points:

1. Dr. Botler most recently served as vice president of the adult medicine service line at the medical center.

2. He has worked at Maine Medical Center for 35 years and was a founder of InterMed, a Portland-based medical group.

3. An internist and family medicine physician, Dr. Botler completed his residency at Maine Medical Center.

4. Maine Medical Center is 637-bed hospital and employs more than 6,000 people.
