LSU Health Care Services Division Replaces CEO

Roxane Townsend, MD, has been removed as CEO of Baton Rouge-based Louisiana State University Health Care Services Division and was replaced by Michael Kaiser, MD, who is now the interim CEO.

Dr. Townsend was also removed from her duties as CEO of the Interim LSU Public Hospital in New Orleans and the Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La.

The reason for Dr. Townsend's removal was not disclosed.

In addition to being interim CEO, Dr. Kaiser will continue in his role as CMO of the LSU HCSD, where he directs system-wide population management. He has been with LSU HCSD since October 2001.
