Lourdes Health CEO retires: 4 things to know

Alexander Hatala retired as CEO of Camden, N.J.-based Lourdes Health System.

Here are four things to know.

1. Mr. Hatala became president and CEO of Lourdes Health System in 1998 and assumed oversight for Trenton, N.J.-based St. Francis Medical Center when it affiliated with the system in 2015. He first joined Lourdes Medical Center 31 years ago as executive vice president and COO.

2. Reginald Blaber, MD, a cardiologist, succeeded Mr. Hatala as president of Lourdes Health System.

3. Dr. Blaber most recently served as executive director of the Lourdes Cardiovascular Institute, vice president of cardiovascular services and chairman of medicine. He affiliated with Lourdes Medical Center more than 20 years ago.

4. Dr. Blaber served six years in the U.S. Army as an internist, achieving major ranking. Prior to that, he earned his medical degree from and completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Philadelphia-based Hahnemann University School of Medicine.
