Kearney Regional Medical Center CEO resigns for new opportunity: 4 notes

Kearney (Neb.) Regional Medical Center CEO Larry Speicher is stepping down from his role, according to a report by The Grand Island Independent.

Here are four notes:

1. Mr. Speicher is leaving to serve as Grand Island (Neb.) Regional Hospital in January 2018. The physician-led hospital is still under construction.

2. Mr. Speicher has served as Kearney Regional's CEO since 2014, prior to which he served as administrator of Platte Valley Medical Group in Kearney.

3. During his tenure, the hospital completed numerous expansions, including an emergency department, and added several specialty care services.

4. John Lanning, COO of Kearney Regional, will serve as interim CEO.
