John Mordach has left his role as executive vice president and CFO of Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health, effective Feb. 14, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer

Mr. Mordach’s exit comes less than seven months after Jefferson merged with Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network to form a 32-hospital system with more than 700 care sites and $14 billion in annual revenue.

“We mutually agreed to part ways,” Nick Ragone, chief marketing and communications officer for Jefferson, told the Inquirer

Thomas Marchozzi, Jefferson’s chief integration officer and former CFO of Lehigh Valley Health, will serve as acting CFO for the health system until a permanent replacement is found.

Mr. Mordach’s exit came the same day Jefferson reported financial results for the first six months of fiscal 2025, which ends Dec. 31. The health system saw a $55.3 million operating loss on revenues of $7.36 billion for the six-month period. The loss is not comparable to the same period last year because it reflects five months of Lehigh Valley Health’s results.

Jefferson CEO Joseph Cacchione, MD, appointed  Mr. Mordach CFO in March 2023. He joined from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System, where he served as senior vice president, CFO and treasurer for the $4.5 billion academic system. Before joining Duke, he spent nearly a decade at Rush University System for Health and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he helped lead the organization through significant growth and strengthened its financial performance.

Jefferson did not respond to Becker’s request for comment.
