HealthTap named Dan Edmonds-Waters vice president of strategy and global sales operations. HealthTap is a global health practice providing access to physicians via video or telephone.

Most recently, Mr. Edmonds-Waters was a senior executive at Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente for 17 years. He served in a number of leadership positions, including as vice president of national sales operations and chief of staff to the president and CEO. He is an adjunct professor in Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan School of Public Health's health services management program.

"I have been looking for some time for a company that offers a truly disruptive innovation at scale for healthcare markets. Our generation has the opportunity to transform healthcare with technology — improving quality and access, while simultaneously reducing costs. I feel obligated and privileged to do what we know really works. I remain a fan of Kaiser Permanente but I strongly believe that HealthTap, by enabling virtual care in partnership with providers and payers, will lead the next giant leap forward in healthcare," said Mr. Edmonds-Waters in a statement.
