HCA appoints Lyn Ketelsen to chief patient experience officer

Hospital Corporation of America Holdings has appointed Lyn Ketelsen, RN, as the organization's first chief patient experience officer.

Effective Feb. 23, Ms. Ketelsen will help ensure patients at HCA's 166 affiliated hospitals and locations have the best experience possible by leveraging best practices developed throughout the organization.

Throughout her career, Ms. Ketelsen — a registered nurse for nearly 30 years — has gained both clinical and consulting experience and has familiarized herself with HCA's culture through working with numerous affiliated hospitals.

Prior to joining HCA, she worked for Studer Group for 12 years, helping organizations build a culture of operational excellence and improve patient, employee and physician satisfaction levels.

Ms. Ketelsen also worked for Davenport, Iowa-based Genesis Health System for 17 years, holding a variety of positions including staff nurse, nurse manager and internal consultant.
