Deaconess Health System CEO Linda White will retire in 2017

Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health System President and CEO Linda E. White plans to retire, effective June 30, 2017. She has served at the helm of the health system for 15 years.

Prior to serving as CEO, Ms. White served in a number of leadership roles, including the health system's vice president of nursing, vice president of patient care and COO. During her time as CEO, the health system underwent numerous changes, including the expansion of its Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Ind.

Shawn McCoy will succeed Ms. White as CEO. He currently serves as Deaconess Health System's executive vice president and chief administrative officer. James Porter, MD, the health system's current executive vice president of physician enterprise and CMO, will take over the role of president.

Following her retirement, Ms. White will serve as Deaconess' CEO emerita for a one-year term.
