On Dec. 1, Daniel Barchi assumed his new position as CIO of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, taking over duties for Aurelia Boyer, who retired.

Daniel Barchi joins NewYork-Presbyterian from Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health System and Yale School of Medicine, where he served as senior vice president and CIO for five years. While there, Mr. Barchi oversaw the health system's implementation of Epic's EHR system.

At NewYork-Presbyterian, one of Mr. Barchi's key projects is the implementation of the system's telehealth program, scheduled to launch this year.

Ms. Boyer served as CIO of NewYork-Presbyterian since 2003, but she came to the organization in 1993 as a project manager for clinical information systems.
