CEO William Foley Resigns From Chicago's Cook County Health System

William Foley is resigning as CEO of Chicago-based Cook County Health and Hospitals System, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

A source told the Chicago Tribune Mr. Foley is leaving to take a job with Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanguard Health Systems, a for-profit system, according to the report.

His resignation follows Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board's denial of a permit to change Oak Forest (Ill.) Hospital into an outpatient clinic.

Mr. Foley was the first CEO of the system.
