Centura Health's Gary Campbell to leave CEO role for new exec position

Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health CEO Gary S. Campbell is leaving his post, effective Sept. 1. He will take on new role at the health system.

Here are four takeaways:

1. Mr. Campbell, who joined the health system as its leader in 2008, has helped grow the organization from 11 hospitals to 17 hospitals.

2. He also played a key role in growing Centura's clinically integrated network to over 4,000 providers and establishing 19 neighborhood health centers.

3. He will assume a new executive leadership position within Centura Health, where he will focus on leadership development and enhancing health value.

4. Peter D. Banko, currently the president and COO of Centura Health, will succeed Mr. Campbell. He will become president and CEO of the system.
