Mr. Santorio joined Broward Health in September 2017 as executive vice president and COO and took on the role of acting CEO in October after Beverly Capasso abruptly resigned earlier that month. He previously served as CEO of  Jackson North Medical Center in North Miami Beach, Fla., and vice president and COO of Miami-based Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Santorio earned a master’s degree in public administration from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at SUNY-Albany and a bachelor’s degree in business from Syracuse, N.Y.-based Le Moyne College.

“Gino is innovative and forward-thinking, and we are confident he will bring Broward Health to the next level of service,” said Andrew Klein, chairman of the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners. “This is an excellent step in the right direction for the organization.”
