Broward Health appoints chief compliance and privacy officer: 4 takeaways

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health promoted Nicholas Hartfield to vice president and chief compliance and privacy officer.

Here are four takeaways:

1. Mr. Hartfield most recently served as Broward Health's director of focused arrangements, which primarily includes the health system's contracts with physician providers.

2. Previously, he served as director of auditing, monitoring and investigations at Miami-based Jackson Health System's office of compliance and ethics.

3. He also worked as a special agent for the Jefferson Parish Office of Inspector General in Louisiana.

4. He is a certified fraud examiner through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
