Boca Raton Regional Hospital CEO to retire next year: 4 notes

Jerry Fedele, president and CEO of Boca Raton (Fla.) Regional Hospital, is planning to retire in August 2018, according to a Boca Raton Tribune report.

Here are four notes:

1. Mr. Fedele joined Boca Raton Regional in 2008 as part of a consulting team that was brought on to help the hospital overcome financial difficulties.

2. During his tenure, the hospital increased its service area and increased the variety of services offered. To reflect the changes, the hospital changed its named from Boca Raton Community Hospital to Boca Raton Regional Hospital in 2010.

3. Additionally, Mr. Fedele spearheaded the creation of new programs, including the Irving & Barbara C. Gutin Center for Robotic Surgery.

4. He is the 2016 chairman of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce's board of directors.
