Bay Medical Sacred Heart gets new president days after its sale to Ascension: 4 things to know

Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Fla., tapped Heath Evans to serve as president of Bay Medical Sacred Heart in Panama City, Fla., according to a Panama City News Herald report.

Four things to know:

1. Mr. Evans most recently served as Bay Medical Sacred Heart's COO.

2. The appointment comes after Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent sold its interest in Bay Medical Sacred Heart to St. Louis-based Ascension. Previously, Ardent and Ascension jointly operated the hospital.

3. Mr. Evans holds an MBA and a master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

4. He succeeds Scott Campbell, who was appointed by Ardent in June 2018.
