Ascension to split president, CEO roles

Eduardo Conrado will become president of St. Louis-based Ascension, effective Feb. 1, and current Ascension President and CEO Joseph Impicciche will remain in the CEO role.

Ascension, a nonprofit system with 139 hospitals in 19 states, announced the executive leadership update in a Jan. 31 news release.

Mr. Conrado is executive vice president and chief strategy and innovation officer for Ascension. Before taking on that role in July 2019, he served as Ascension's executive vice president and chief digital officer, according to the release. He also was executive vice president and chief strategy and innovation officer for Motorola Solutions before joining Ascension.

"Eduardo is a gifted servant leader with the background, experience and talent to help us lead change in this new role as we respond to an evolving healthcare environment," Mr. Impicciche said in the release.

Ascension also announced that Craig Cordola will be transitioning from his role as executive vice president and COO to the role of executive vice president for Ascension Capital, the health system's investment fund..  

Ascension said Mr. Cordola has played a key role in the success of Ascension environmental stewardship efforts and oversaw the launch of the health system's consumer experience efforts.

"We are grateful for Craig's contributions and commitment as a servant leader of our ministry and wish him continued blessings and great success with Ascension Capital," Mr. Impicciche said in the release.
