9 recent hospital, health system executive retirements

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system executive retirements in the last four weeks:

1. Jim Cole, president and CEO of Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, plans to retire next year.

2. Randy DeGroot, president of ProMedica Coldwater (Mich.) Regional Hospital, is retiring, effective Jan. 10.

3. Barry C. Finn retired as president and CEO of Aurora, Ill.-based Rush Copley Medical Center.

4. Bern Heath, PhD, is retiring as CEO of Durango, Colo.-based Axis Health System, effective Jan. 3.

5. Rebecca Lewis, president of Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, is retiring at the end of the year.

6. Stephanie Reel will retire from Johns Hopkins on July 1 after three decades as an IT leader at the Baltimore-based institution.

7. Mark Turner, president of Memorial Hospital Belleville (Ill.) and Memorial Hospital East in Shiloh, Ill., will retire next April.

8. John F. Wilbanks, executive vice president and COO of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health, is retiring at the end of the year.

9. American Hospital Association Executive Vice President and COO Maryjane Wurth plans to retire next year.
