30 recent hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week:

1. Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis has tapped Aamina B. Akhtar, MD, to serve as CMO, effective Sept. 16.

2. Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth appointed Noreen Bernard, EdD, RN, chief nursing officer of UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont, Colo.

3. Baltimore-based University of Maryland Shore Regional Health appointed Jennifer L. Bowie vice president for nursing and patient care services and chief nursing officer.

4. Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss., appointed Phyllis Chambers-Berry, DNP, RN, chief nursing officer.

5. Pineville (Ky.) Community Hospital named Alan Coppock interim CEO.

6. Putnam, Conn.-based Day Kimball Healthcare President and CEO Anne Diamond resigned.

7. Jay de los Reys, CEO of Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron, Mich., is resigning.

8. Mark Fulco, president of Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., and its affiliates, has resigned.

9. Freeman Health System in Joplin, Mo., has selected Kevin Gaudette to serve as chief revenue officer.

10. Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health appointed Jean Haynes chief population health officer, a newly created role.

11. Daniel Jackson was named CEO of DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit.

12. Hagerstown, Md.-based Meritus Health named Maulik S. Joshi president and CEO, effective in mid-November.

13. Larry Kaiser, MD, president and CEO of Philadelphia-based Temple University Health System, is leaving the role, effective Dec. 31.

14. Winnie Mack, RN, interim leader of East Meadow, N.Y.-based Nassau University Medical Center, is leaving after six months in the role.

15. Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Children's Health named Rick Majzun vice president and COO, effective immediately.

16. Detroit Medical Center selected Conrad Mallett to serve as its inaugural chief administrative officer.

17. Michael Moran, president and chief administrative officer of the Eastern region at Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health, plans to resign, effective Nov. 1.

18. Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Mercy Health Saint Mary's has named Michelle Pena, RN, chief nursing officer, effective Sept. 22.

19. MemorialCare Long Beach (Calif.) Medical Center has tapped Eric Ramos, MD, to serve as CMO.

20. Jupiter (Fla.) Medical Center appointed Amit Rastogi, MD, its new CEO, effective Sept. 23.

21. George Rohrich, CEO of St. Peter, Minn.-based River's Edge Hospital, announced Sept. 5 plans to step down from the role.

22. Fort Myer, Fla.-based Lee Health has selected Rick Schooler to serve as CIO.

23. Lexington, Ky.-based CHI Saint Joseph Health named Travis Sewalls, MD, CMO of Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East, both also based in Lexington.

24. MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills, Calif., has selected Catherine Shitara to serve as COO.

25. Tennova Healthcare-Harton in Tullahoma, Tenn., has tapped Marilyn A. Smith, DNP, RN, to serve as chief nursing officer.

26. Kevin Spiegel is no longer the CEO of Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tenn.

27. Lincoln Health System in Fayetteville, Tenn., named William R. Spray interim CEO.

28. Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Holy Cross Hospital appointed Doug Strong interim CEO.

29. Pamela Sutton-Wallace, acting executive vice president for health affairs for Richmond-based University of Virginia Health System and CEO of UVA Medical Center, is leaving.

30. Adventist Health Tillamook (Ore.) has tapped Eric Swanson to serve as president.
