The following hospital and health system executive moves were reported by Becker's Hospital Review in July. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Karen Jones, MD, was named senior vice president of York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health and president of WellSpan Medical Group.

2. Mike Casdorph was named president and CEO of Highland-Clarksburg Hospital in Clarksburg, W. Va.

3. Cindy Nuesslein, CEO of University Medical Center New Orleans, will leave the hospital next month for a job with an engineering and design firm.

4. Jim Murphy was hired as interim CEO of Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke, Colo.

5. Jeffrey A. Rivest, president and CEO of Baltimore-based University of Maryland Medical Center, will retire at the end of August after 11 years at the helm.

6. Peter Wozniak, CEO of Venice (Fla.) Regional Bayfront Health, will resign at the end of July.

7. St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, N.Y., hired Gerard "Jerry" Walsh as CEO.

8. El Segundo, Calif.-based Avanti Hospitals, which owns and operates Memorial Hospital of Gardena, Calif., Community Hospital of Huntington Park, Calif., Coast Plaza Hospital in Norwalk, Calif., and East LA Doctors Hospital, appointed Michael Rembis corporate CEO.

9. Bear Valley Community Healthcare District in Big Bear Lake, Calif., announced the resignation of Interim CEO Randy Simmons.

10. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Neenah named Debbie Franckowiak, PhD, as executive director.

11. Boston Medical Center appointed two new executives, effective immediately. Thea James, MD, was appointed to the newly created role of vice president of mission and associate CMO, and Lisa Kelly-Croswell was promoted to senior vice president and chief human resources officer.

12. Atlanta-based Emory University Hospital named Bryce Gartland, MD, CEO.

13. Mercy Health-Cincinnati hired R. Wayne Reid as COO of Fairfield (Ohio) Hospital.

14. La Crosse, Wis.-based Gundersen Health System named Scott Rathgaber, MD, CEO, effective in September.

15. Yousuf Ahmad, former CEO of Mercy Health-Cincinnati, planned to step down July 29 from his position as senior vice president for system development for Mercy Health's Ohio and Kentucky operations and as president of the Mercy Health Behavioral Health Institute.

16. Mario Garner, EdD, was appointed as the first senior vice president and CEO of Pearland, Texas-based Memorial Hermann Pearland Hospital, which is scheduled to open in 2016.

17. Belleville, Ill.-based St. Elizabeth's Hospital, an affiliate of Hospital Sisters Health System, appointed CNO Shelley Harris, DNP, interim CEO.

18. Donald J. Mueller was named CEO of Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Children's Hospital at Erlanger and vice president of Erlanger Health System.

19. Former Fairbanks (Alaska) Memorial Hospital CEO Mike Powers was named interim chancellor of University of Alaska Fairbanks.

20. Alfred Glover was named COO of Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, N.Y.

21. Bowie (Texas) Memorial Hospital named Ernie Parisi interim CEO.

22. Will Cook was named the next president and CEO of Aurora-based University of Colorado Hospital, part of UCHealth.

23. Erik Olson was named vice president and CEO of Reno, Nev.-based Renown Regional Medical Center, part of Renown Health.

24. Simi Valley (Calif.) Hospital, part of Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health, named Jennifer Swenson president and CEO. 

25. St. Louis-based Ascension, parent organization of Nashville, Tenn.-based Saint Thomas Health, announced two leadership changes in the Tennessee Ministry. Karen Springer was named senior vice president, Ascension Health/Tennessee Ministry Market executive and president and CEO of Saint Thomas Health. Mike Schatzlein, MD, who was named Saint Thomas Health CEO in 2010 and also served as Ascension Health Ministry Market leader for Indiana and Tennessee, will take on the role of senior vice president, Ascension Health/Group Ministry operating executive.  

26. John Denbo, RN, CEO of Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Mo., is retiring at the end of this year. 

27. Margaret "Meg" McGoldrick was appointed president of Abington–Jefferson Health in Pennsylvania. 

28. Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., named both the CEO and the associate vice chancellor for population health of its adult clinical enterprise. David Posch will move from his role as CEO of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital and Clinics and executive director for the Vanderbilt Medical Group to the newly created position of associate vice chancellor for population health of VUAHC. Mitchell Edgeworth will move from his role as COO of Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics to the position of CEO of VUAHC.

29. Pulmonologist Ruben D. Penaranda, MD, was named chief of staff for Coral Gables, Fla.-based Doctors Hospital, part of Baptist Health South Florida.

30. St. Jude Children's ResearchHospital in Memphis, Tenn., named Charles W. M. Roberts, MD, PhD, executive vice president and director of the St. Jude Comprehensive Cancer Center, the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children.

31. Matthew J. Wenzel was appointed president and CEO of Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke's North Hospital, part of Saint Luke's Health System.

32. Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill., appointed Charles Lane, MD, as its first CMO, effective Aug. 1.

33. Allentown, Pa.-based Coordinated Health appointed Linda Chen CFO.

34. Truman Medical Centers, a two-hospital system based in Kansas City, Mo., named Ruth Stricklen Pullins chief human resources officer.

35. Presence Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, Ill., and Chicago-based Presence Resurrection Medical Center named Yolande Wilson-Stubbs, RN, regional COO of long-term acute care services. 

36. Beverly Vilhauer was named CEO of Wishek (N.D.) Community Hospital and Clinics.

37. Robert Tyk, who has been CEO of Joshua Tree, Calif.-based Hi-Desert Medical Center since December 2013, was not offered employment by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, which took over operation of the medical center July 15.

38. Chris Howe was named assistant CEO of Commonwealth Health's Regional Hospital of Scranton (Pa.).

39. Sue Johnson-Phillippe, president and CEO of St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon, W. Va., is retiring.

40. As the sale of Denville, N.J.-based Saint Clare's Health System comes to a close, the system's president and CEO, Leslie D. Hirsch, is leaving his post to begin a new position as president of Saint Peter's Healthcare System in New Brunswick, N.J.

41. North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Fla., named Ronnie Daves CEO.

42. Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D., appointed Kevin Bray, MD, CMO.

43. Thomas Lynch, MD, is leaving his position at Connecticut-based Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven later this summer.

44. Mary Kate FitzPatrick, DNP, RN, will become CNO of Burlington-based University of Vermont Medical Center on Sept. 21. She will also be a clinical associate professor in the UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

45. CarePoint Health, a health system based in Bayonne, N.J., appointed W. Peter Daniels executive vice president and COO.

46. West Orange, N.J.-based Barnabas Health named Robert T. Adamson, PharmD, chief pharmacy officer, effective immediately.

47. Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Ga., chose Randall "Randy" Hoover as the hospital's new interim CEO.

48. Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio, appointed Unhee Kim, RN, president.

49. Patricia Sheyka, RN, CNO of Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, N.M., plans to retire at the end of August.

50. Marilyn Tremblay, RN, MSN, resigned from her position as CIO at Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties in Orangeburg, S.C., to become IT director of applications at Philadelphia-based Grand View Health.

51. San Francisco-based Dignity Health realigned hospital leadership in the Sacramento, Calif. Michael Ricks, former president of Mercy Hospital of Folsom (Calif.), left Dignity Health. Edmundo Castañeda, former president of Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, is now president of both Mercy General Hospital and Mercy Hospital of Folsom.

52. Milwaukee-based Children's Hospital of Wisconsin named Marc Cadieux CFO.

53. Brian Kellar was named CEO of Page (Ariz.) Hospital, part of Phoenix-based Banner Health.

54. Barbara S. Dember, president and CEO of Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Ariz., has resigned.

55. Richard Hammett has been named president and CEO of HealthONE's SwedishMedicalCenter in Englewood, Colo.

56. Guthrie Corning Hospital in Corning, N.Y., named Garrett Hoover president and CEO, effective in August.

57. Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas, appointed Kyle Swift CEO, effective July 27.

58. St. Louis-based SSM Health named Laura Jelle president of its St.ClareHospital in Baraboo, Wis.

59. Andrew L. Davis was named interim CEO of United Medical Center in Washington, D.C., effective July 18.

60. Chris Champlin is the new chief strategy officer for San Francisco-based Dignity Health in the Sacramento, Calif., area.

61. Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center named Courtney Burke, a state government official, chief strategy officer.

62. Jeffrey Grossman, MD, was selected to serve as interim CEO of Madison, Wis.-based UW Health.

63. West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho, appointed Geoff Hill CFO.

64. Karen S. Watts, MSN, RN, was named executive vice president and CNO of Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas.

65. Panama City, Fla.-based Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart Health System named Steve Grubbs president and CEO.

66. Copley Hospital in Morrisville, Vt., named Arthur "Art" Mathisen COO.

67. Kathy Krusie, CEO of St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, Texas, is stepping down after five years at the helm.

68. Daniel Wolcott, president and CEO of Takoma Regional Hospital in Greeneville, Tenn., will step down from that position at the end of July to accept a position in California.

69. Sheila Daly, RN, CEO of Clinton (Mass.) Hospital, will retire at the end of the year.

70. HCA North Texas, the 15-hospital Irving-based branch of HCA, named Jamie Youssef chief development and strategy officer.

71. St. David's Round Rock Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas, named Cindy Nicholas CNO and Nikki Sikes COO.

72. Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif., appointed Gene Ma, MD, a board-certified emergency medicine specialist with 15 years of experience, to the position of chief of staff starting July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016.

73. St. Louis-based SSM Health picked Kate Becker, JD, to serve as president of Saint Louis University Hospital.

74. Jani L. Johnson, RN, was appointed CEO of Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City (Mo.), effective July 27.

75. Children's Hospital Los Angeles named Paul S. Viviano president and CEO.

76. Gary Conner was appointed senior vice president and CFO at Reading (Pa.) Health System. 

77. John C. Gorski, PharmD, COO of Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, the parent company to Community Healthcare System and its Indiana hospitals in Munster, East Chicago and Hobart, was named president and CEO. Donald P. Fesko, OD, CEO of Community Hospital in Munster, will take over Dr. Gorski's role as COO while remaining CEO of Community Hospital.

78. Ann Marie Capo was named vice president for quality and patient services and CNO at Farmington-based UConn Health.

79. St. Anthony's MedicalCenter in St. Louis named David Sindelar CEO, effective Sept. 1.

80. Phillip Sowa, CEO of Saint Louis University Hospital, an academic teaching hospital in St. Louis, is stepping down from his role.

81. Maryann Reese, CEO of St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill., is planning to leave the hospital July 30 for a new job.

82. Stephen P. Zieniewicz was named president and CEO of Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., effective Sept. 8.

83. David Hamlin, RN, joined the staff of Catalina Island Medical Center in Avalon, Calif., as the new CNO and director of patient care services.

84. Glens Falls (N.Y.) Hospital promoted Paul Scimeca to COO.

85. Robert "Bo" Cofield was named vice president and chief clinical operating officer of Lexington-based UK HealthCare.

86. Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Va., named Kathy Landreth president and CEO.

87. Pottstown (Pa.) Memorial Medical Center named Rich Newell CEO, effective July 27.

88. Alfonso "Al" Diaz Jr., MD, CMO of Harbin Clinic in Rome, Ga., will be leaving the organization to become CEO of Kindred Hospital Rome (Ga.).

89. Kay Takes was named president and CEO of Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque (Iowa).

90. Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio, Texas, named Xochy Hurtado CEO.

91. Mercy Health-Cincinnati named Todd Lupton CFO.
