28 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves during the last week.

The moves are listed below, in alphabetical order by the executive's last name.

1. Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, Pa., selected Vik Acharya to serve as vice president and COO, effective March 4.

2. San Francisco-based Dignity Health tapped Doug Archer to serve as president and CEO of Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas, Calif.

3. Paula Autry, CEO of Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Lutheran Hospital, decided not to transition to St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, as previously announced.

4. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health selected Vicki Block to serve as senior vice president, Central Division, overseeing operations for Carolinas Medical Center, Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy and Levine Children's Hospital, all based in Charlotte.

5. Baton Rouge, La.-based Woman's Hospital selected Robert Burgess to serve as interim CEO, effective immediately.

6. San Angelo (Texas) Community Medical Center CEO Buddy Daniels is resigning at the end of April. Lovelace Health System named him CEO of Lovelace Regional Hospital in Roswell, N.M., effective April 29.

7. Southfield, Mich.-based Beaumont Health selected Melissa Foreman-Lovell, DNP, RN, to serve as chief nursing officer for Beaumont, Troy (Mich.), and Brad Lukas, RN, as chief nursing officer for Beaumont, Grosse Pointe (Mich.).

8. Salina Regional Health Center named Robert Freelove, MD, senior vice president and CMO, effective July 15.

8. Lewes, Del.-based Beebe Healthcare President and CEO Jeffrey Fried left the role March 26.

9. Pinckneyville (Ill.) Community Hospital appointed Brad Futrell COO, a newly created role.

10. Charles Gijanto, interim CEO of Massena (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital, is no longer employed with the organization.

11. St. Louis-based Ascension named Thomas Graf, MD, president of Ascension Medical Group, effective April 15.

12. Metro Health-University of Michigan Health, based in Wyoming, Mich., appointed Ronald Grifka, MD, as CMO.

13. The Theo Executive Group, a healthcare advisory firm, named Robert J. Henkel president of healthcare transformation.

14. Cherokee (Iowa) Regional Medical Center tapped Gary W. Jordan to serve as president and CEO.

15. HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Ill., tapped Bobbi Kinkelaar, RN, to serve as chief nursing officer.

16. Sayre, Pa.-based Guthrie appointed Felissa Koernig president and COO of Guthrie Towanda (Pa.) Memorial Hospital.

17. Morehead, Ky.-based St. Claire HealthCare appointed Donald H. Lloyd II president and CEO, effective May 1.

18. Craig McCoy, president of Bon Secours' Greenville (S.C.) market, is leaving the role, a spokesperson from Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health confirmed.

19. Harry Schmidt, CEO of Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, Ill., is resigning June 30.

20. Mark W. Shen, MD, who became president of St. Louis Children's Hospital in November 2018, has resigned.

21. Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health named Chris Simoneau chief foundation and development officer.

22. Cortez, Colo.-based Southwest Health System tapped Anthony Sudduth to serve as permanent CEO, effective March 28.

23. Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital selected Jovita Thomas-Williams to serve as senior vice president of human resources, effective April 29.

24. Dallas-based Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation appointed Leslie Wainwright, PhD, chief funding and innovation officer.

25. Denver-based Rose Medical Center tapped Andrew Weinfeld, MD, to serve as CMO.

26. LSU Health Shreveport (La.) appointed Keith White, MD, chairman of the department of surgery, effective immediately.

27. Clay County Hospital in Flora, Ill., selected Denise Williams to serve as interim president.

28. Fountain Valley (Calif.) Regional Hospital and Medical Center named Connie Worden chief human resources officer, effective April 15.
